Our service seeks and/or provides care when you are unable to, in Emergency Situations

Once you are registered with us and have received your Carers' Emergency Support Service card you will be safe in the knowledge that, should you encounter an emergency that prevents you from providing your usual caring role, we will arrange for replacement care to be provided using your prearranged instructions. We will provide this care for up to four hours. If the call out is after 10pm we will stay through the night free of charge, until Social Services can be contacted.
The following scenarios are useful examples of when our service could be used:
-
Upon carer's admission to hospital or other health needs which preclude them from continuing to provide care
-
During family emergency, such as close relative being taken ill and requiring help or attention
-
When there is real risk to the carer's employment on a particular occassion
Once receiving a Carers' Support Service call and having being quoted a unique carer PIN, our team of experienced co-ordinators will follow a number of contingency steps that you registered on your emergency plan. We will:
-
Contact the people you have nominated to let them know what has happened and organise care
-
Send one of our care assistants to care for / support the person you care for if we can not reach your nominated carers
-
Continue to try and contact your nominated carers, and contact Social Care Services to provide extended care if needed
-
Contact the person you care for and inform them of what has happened if that is appropriate
-
Keep you informed of the outcome, if possible
